- Approximately 134,000 American veterans identify as transgender
- Approximately 15,000 transgender service members are in active duty
In 2017, President Donald Trump announced that transgender people will no longer be allowed to service in the United States Armed Services. In March 2018, it was announced that the ban had gone into affect, and the United States military is blocking actively-serving transgender troops from seeking some essential transitional healthcare needs.
In order to protect the inherent dignity and human rights of transgender service members, this unconstitutional and discriminatory ban must be overturned.
